Information You Submit
Search Terms
When a visitor enters a name, location, or similar query into a search tool, that query may be sent to the outside provider that powers the tool. Seward County Inmate Population does not keep a separate local log of those search terms.
Messages
If you send an email or contact message, the information in that message may be kept long enough to read, route, and answer it. We do not share those messages outside our organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for it.
Automatic Site Data
Like most websites, this site may collect technical data when pages load. That data helps measure traffic, diagnose errors, and keep the site usable across browsers and devices.
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages visited and time spent on pages.
- Referring site, when available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies and similar tools may be used to understand how visitors use the site and to support ads or analytics. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but some features may work differently after they are blocked.
How Data Is Used
- To keep pages available, fast, and readable.
- To route search requests to the appropriate partner service.
- To understand which pages and topics visitors use most.
- To detect, troubleshoot, and fix technical problems.
- To show advertising that may be relevant to visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to sheriff pages, jail information, KDOC resources, Kansas court tools, VINELink, federal locators, and third-party search providers. Once you leave this site, the privacy policy of the other website controls that visit.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure or personalize ads across different websites. Their collection and use of that data happens under their policies, not this one.
Who May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Data may still be processed or received by limited outside parties when needed to operate the site or comply with law.
- Search partners that handle submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site use.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government bodies when a valid legal order requires disclosure.
Security Practices
Reasonable security practices are used to protect information handled through this site. No website, server, network, or email system can be guaranteed to be fully secure, so no breach-proof promise is made.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted information, contact us so it can be reviewed for deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
- Ask for a copy of personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is wrong.
- Ask us to delete information when deletion is legally and technically possible.
- Ask to opt out of certain processing where the law gives that right.
Notice Updates
This Privacy Notice may be revised from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page with the revised text in effect when published.
